As I mentioned before, these ray gun trucks evolve. They grow, change, then one day are finished and go to a shelf in a gallery or someone's home...

I am not totally pleased with the ray gun part of this piece (see previous post).  I DO like the mount and the brass bit at the swivel in the center, but....

So, I had to go over to Astoria today and was thinking about perhaps finding some bits at the Astoria Vintage Hardware architectural salvage store.  After I finished my Home Depot chores and bought food at Costco, I headed on into town to see what Paul might have.  Well BLESS HIM, he took me back to the back of the shop and opened a secret room to me where he stashes juicy bits and said "dig around in here, see what you can find".  WOW, how cool is that!  This is what I came out of there with:

I made these boxes to be an arrangeable triptych. So that the buyer could stack or arrange them as it suited them. Now I don't like them. I guess what I don't like is the resin poured over the items to keep them in place. Are they art, junk, the art of junk, or what? I suppose I will post them at my ETSY STORE, but what do you think of it? Should I sell them individually? Bury them for some archaeologist to find in the future? They are supposed to resemble boxes from some old guy's workshop...oh yea, they ARE! LOL Tell ya what: if you like them, I will trade you to come repair my hot tub. How's THAT for the deal of the century?

This is one of the pieces I am presently working on. I guess one could call it a ROCKET LAMP. The base is the die cast metal center section from a Thunderbird hubcap with a chrome sphere from something on it. Mounted to that is the horn ring from a 64 Chevrolet with two old Ford jet-rocket hood ornaments. The gooseneck and fiberglas shade are more found objects. This thing stands about 27 inches tall. I hope to have it lit up and posted for sale in my ETSY STORE soon...

LUCY'S TRAILERSince I went crazy and posted that badass rock music piece below, I thought it would do to post one of my assemblage art works to sort of balance things a bit. This is called LUCY'S TRAILER. It is meant to be touched by curious observers. The pink trailer rocks up and down, the little brass phone book snaps open, the old amp guage spins round and round, behind the filigree is an old timey Buick hood ornament on a spring. To the right of the trailer is a silver stash can with a lid that opens. In the lower right is a button that one can push down to open the brass hasp then reach in and push an "option" button from a computer keyboard. This is a fun piece...I will be putting this up for sale with others of my creation at my ETSY STORE soon.
