This is a picture my Father took in 1944 or 45 of the little Coast Guard bouy tender BLUEBELL near The Dalles, Oregon. I don't know how long he was stationed there, but he WAS the office of the Coast Guard for the Eastern Columbia River. The note with the photo says that my brother had his first birthday in The Dalles. It is my understanding that this boat (refurbished for sure) is still in use by the U. S. Coast Guard in Portland, Oregon.
