As I mentioned before, these ray gun trucks evolve. They grow, change, then one day are finished and go to a shelf in a gallery or someone's home...

I am not totally pleased with the ray gun part of this piece (see previous post).  I DO like the mount and the brass bit at the swivel in the center, but....

So, I had to go over to Astoria today and was thinking about perhaps finding some bits at the Astoria Vintage Hardware architectural salvage store.  After I finished my Home Depot chores and bought food at Costco, I headed on into town to see what Paul might have.  Well BLESS HIM, he took me back to the back of the shop and opened a secret room to me where he stashes juicy bits and said "dig around in here, see what you can find".  WOW, how cool is that!  This is what I came out of there with:

Here's a nice article about the gallery and show I was/am in at present:

"Artifacts from a Possible Future" includes the work of one painter and four sculpture/assemblage artists who each share a common interest in culture, the objects that define civilization and societal detritus that may be treasured centuries hence. This exhibition explores the thread of continuation that connects us to history and propels us into an undetermined future, both as a society and as individuals. Included are the paintings of Brin Levinson from Portland; electrified sculptures by Joe Chasse from the Long Beach Peninsula, Wash.; metal sculptures by Jud Turner of Eugene; mixed-media assemblages by Dick Libby of Seattle and antiquity assemblages from Sue Bolton of Overton Park, Kan. All five artists are new to RiverSea Gallery.
